How to choose the right bucket for your mini excavator
What matters is the type of job, the width and the arm connection: the wrong bucket slows you down or simply will not fit.
1. Digging bucket
The toothed bucket for trenches, foundations, utility connections and earthmoving. Narrow widths of 20–35 cm are for pipes and cables; 40–60 cm buckets are the most versatile.
2. Ditch cleaning bucket
Wide and without teeth, it cleans and profiles ditches and channels, levels ground and loads loose material. Tilting versions angle to follow the slope of the banks.
3. Riddle bucket
Its grid bottom keeps stones, roots and debris and lets the soil fall through. Useful for clearing land, preparing lawns and separating materials.
4. Width and mini excavator weight
The lighter the machine, the narrower and lighter the bucket: from 20 to 80 cm for mini excavators around 1 t, up to 100–150 cm for machines of 2.8–3.9 t. An oversized bucket unbalances and strains the machine.
5. Connection, pins and spare parts
Each bucket is built for the connection of a specific model: check the compatible mini excavator or the quick coupler version on the product page. Teeth and pins can be replaced when worn, without changing the bucket.

| Wide digging bucket | 80–150 cm | Moving and loading material on larger machines |
| Ditch cleaning bucket | 60–80 cm | Ditches, channels, levelling |
| Riddle bucket | 50–100 cm | Separating stones, roots and soil |
Which bucket do I need to dig a trench for pipes?
A narrow digging bucket, 20 to 35 cm: it digs a clean trench, moves less soil and reduces backfilling.
Will the buckets fit my mini excavator?
Each bucket is built for the connection of specific models: the product page lists compatible mini excavators, including Kubota, and quick coupler versions. If your model is not listed, tell us the make, model and pin diameter.
What is the difference between a digging bucket and a ditch cleaning bucket?
The digging bucket has teeth and penetrates the ground; the ditch cleaning bucket is wider, has a smooth edge and is used to profile, level and load.
What is a riddle bucket for?
To separate stones, roots and debris from soil: you shake the bucket and the fine soil falls through the grid.
Can the teeth be replaced?
Yes, teeth and pins are available as spare parts: when they wear out you replace them without changing the bucket.
