How to choose the right crane jib for your tractor
The choice depends on load, reach and tractor power.
1. How it works
The crane jib mounts on the three-point hitch: the tractor lift raises the frame and the length-adjustable boom carries the load hanging from the hook. It is used to lift suspended loads and move them, for example to load a trailer or set the load down in an exact spot.
2. Load, height and reach
Both models lift up to 200 kg. The extended boom reaches about 1.6 m on the light model and about 2.1 m on the larger one, with a lifting height of about 2.1–2.2 m plus the travel of the tractor lift. The liftable load decreases as the boom is extended: keep this in mind.
3. Power and connections
The light model suits 16 to 45 hp tractors and the larger one 30 to 70 hp tractors, both with a category 1 and 2 three-point hitch. The model with a cylinder connects to the tractor with two hydraulic hoses and needs a hydraulic outlet.
4. Safety
Never stand under a suspended load, lift slowly and smoothly and do not exceed the maximum load. Use front ballast with heavier loads and carry the load low.

What is a tractor crane jib used for?
It lifts and moves suspended loads: sacks, equipment, small logs or shrubs. It is handy for loading and unloading trailers, moving material around the yard or reaching places a fork cannot.
How much can it lift?
Up to 200 kg with the boom at its shortest. As the boom is extended the liftable load decreases, because the leverage on the tractor lift increases.
Is a hydraulic outlet needed?
Only for the model with a hydraulic cylinder, which connects to the tractor with two hoses. The light model works with the tractor lift alone.
Is the crane jib compatible with my tractor?
Yes, if the farm tractor has the power stated for the model and a category 1 or 2 three-point hitch, and the distance between the lower arms matches the product page.
Crane jib or fork?
A fork lifts pallets and bales from underneath, with the load resting on the tines. A crane jib lifts loads hanging from a hook and is better for loading a trailer or placing the load in an exact spot.
